How do I access e-resources (databases, online books and journals)?
Accessing Online Resources at the Hope Brings Strength Health Sciences Library
As part of Rowan University Libraries, the Hope Brings Strength Health Sciences Library at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) provides access to thousands of online resources, including databases, e-journals, and e-books.
Most of these resources are licensed and are available on- and off-campus to the following groups:
- Current Rowan University students, faculty, and staff
- Residents from Rowan-Virtua SOM affiliated institutions
- Our Lady of Lourdes (OLOL)/Virtua nursing students and faculty
- Rowan-Virtua SOM volunteer faculty
How to Access Online Library Resources
To access licensed resources:
- Start at a Rowan University Libraries website.
- You will be prompted to select your affiliation: choose Rowan (not Cooper Health).
- Log in using your Rowan NetID and authenticate through Duo, Rowan’s two-factor authentication system.
Managing Your Rowan NetID
To find, create, or reset your Rowan NetID password, visit:

- Click the appropriate button and follow the prompts.
- You will need your Banner ID, which is included in your welcome materials when you receive your NetID.
Who is Eligible for a Rowan NetID?
- Students, faculty, and staff are assigned a NetID upon enrollment or employment at Rowan University.
- Volunteer faculty at Rowan-Virtua SOM receive NetIDs through the Dean’s Office upon appointment.
- Affiliate residents at Rowan-Virtua SOM: please refer to the FAQ on how to obtain your Rowan account.
Important Note for Alumni
Unfortunately, alumni are not eligible to access Rowan University Libraries' licensed online resources.
