Library of Congress Classification divides all materials into main letter-based classes from A-Z and then subdivides them into more specific categories. For example:

Q = Science
QR = Microbiology
QR 180 through QR 189.5 = Immunology

At Campbell Library, materials in LC classes A through H are located on the third floor and J through Z are on the fourth floor.

You can use the library catalog to find the call numbers for specific books, or the librarian at the reference desk can assist you.
