How do residents from SOM affiliated institutions access Library resources?

Residents from several Rowan-Virtua SOM affiliated healthcare systems are entitled to access library resources (databases, E-Journals, E-books, etc) from on and off-campus locations.  Current residents based at the following healthcare systems are entitled to access to Rowan University Libraries' online resources:

  • Inspira Health
  • Christ Hospital (CarePoint Health)
  • Bayonne Medical Center (CarePoint Health)
  • St. Joseph's Health

New affiliate residents will receive an email invitation within the first few weeks of their residency about creating a Rowan NetID. To create a Rowan NetID you must use your work or institution's email address.  DO NOT use personal email addresses to create your Rowan NetID.  You also must enroll in Duo, Rowan University's two-factor authentication method, and may need to complete online security training.

There are strict time limits on creating a NetID for affiliate residents. If the affiliate resident fails to activate their NetID within the 7 days of receipt of the invitation the resident will need to make a request with the library to resent invitation.

Once your NetID is fully activated you will be able to access databases, ebooks, ejournals and other resources through the library's website.  See this FAQ on how to access library resources.

Contact the Rowan-Virtua SOM Library through AskALibrarian if you have questions.
