What is Two-Factor Authentication?

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to your usernames and passwords and is required to be used by Rowan University students, faculty, staff, and Rowan-Virtua SOM affiliates eligible for access to Rowan University Libraries resources as well as many other online services and tools used at Rowan University.

Two factor authentication involves downloading, installing, and configuring the Duo app on your phone, and registering your device.  If you don’t want to use a mobile device you can register one or more landlines, or obtain a special token.  It is recommended you register at least one landline as a back-up in case your mobile device is lost or broken.

More information about Duo and two-factor authentication can be found at https://irt.rowan.edu/security/duo.html

Once enrolled in Duo you will need to use two-factor authentication along with your Rowan NetID to access Library resources.

Please do not contact the library with questions about Duo or two-factor authentication. Contact the Technology Support Center at 856-256-4400 or support@rowan.edu with any questions.
